Meow! Cat Blogging.

According to Neilsen metrics, 99% of the blogosphere is comprised of “cat” posts. This trend began five years ago, when crankygeek John C. Dvorak (inventor of the Dvorak Mouse) issued a challenge to the kitty-loving world.

Within months, blog search indexes like Technoerrati and BlogDagger were flooded with meowy messages and faux Feline fansites. Cat bloggers look up to one industry puppet in particular: Henrietta Pussycat. Says Henrietta about the Neilsen number:

In an effort to curb growth of this virtual litter box, Google has begun blacklisting bloggers who have [at one time] published posts about their cat.
